Coach East will start his 7th season as a baseball coach here at East Coweta. Coach East coached the varsity team as an assistant from 2008-2013 before coaching 3 seasons at LaGrange College as an Assistant Coach.While coaching at LaGrange College he helped lead the Panthers to the 2013 Conference Championship where they finished runner-up in the NCAA Division III USA South Conference. The baseball team had a 72-56  record in the 3 years while Coach East was at Lagrange College. Before coming to East Coweta, Coach East was the Head Softball Coach at Spalding High School in Griffin and the Assistant Baseball Coach. He has a head coaching record of 106-37 in 6 years with 2 region championships and one Final four appearance.

 

 Coach East was a four-year Letterman for the LaGrange College Panthers on the baseball field.  He was a Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) All-Conference selection at second base and was the team's Best Defensive Player award recipient his senior year. During his senior year, the Panthers were ranked 28th nationally, winning the GSAC championship with a 16-0 record and finishing with an overall record of 35-13. 

 

Coach East is married to the former Melissa Brinker of Norcross, Ga. Melissa is a 1st grade teacher at Newnan Crossing Elementary School. They have 2 children Robert (13) and Emily (10).
